Built by people who carried the pager.
Helm started in 2021 as an internal tool at a payments company whose on-call rota had become a hazing ritual. It fixed the rota. Then other teams asked for it.
What we believe
A dashboard is something you look at. A board is something you act from. Most tools in this category are dashboards with alerting bolted on, and the alerting is the part that wakes you up at 3am for a disk at 81 percent.
We think the on-call should open one screen, see twenty rows, and know which one is theirs. Everything we build is measured against whether it makes that screen shorter.
